       Love House Family Gratitude

Christmas 2014

Well the dust has all settled and the trimmings are down and I look around and see a little cleanup that still needs done. I think about another amazing year. Maureen was able to do it again. The lists of need were long, but the wait time to cover those lists were short. So many amazing people came forward to help out where the need was the greatest. We took on a grandmother this year that had taken on 12 grandchildren. I know when you first hear that number you think...Wow that's a lot. When you drive up to the house with a horse trailer full of gifts to cover those 12 kids, you think Oh My God! When the little ones come running out from a three bedroom apartment from under the coffee tables, behind the couch, and under the kitchen table, you think for the love of God where do you keep them! Those are the things I see, those are the things that touch my heart and let me know that God is good. We gathered gifts for families that had no beds, no blankets, and no pillows, we covered that. we gathered gifts for young mothers that are just starting out with no support, we covered that, we gathered gifts for young adults that are barely surviving on their own, that have taken on the responsibility of younger siblings, we covered that, and we gathered gifts for families that had no hope of providing anything for their children this year for Christmas, and we snuck up on them in the dead of night and we covered that. That is what Christmas is all about. I want to thank each one of you that bought a gift, wrapped a toy, or sent a little something to help out. It is such a thankless gift and they are gifts that come from the heart. Those gifts made children and families smile, and cry. Those gifts made people believe again if just for a day that the world is good and God has blessed them. Those children were able to believe that although things were really tough for their mommies and daddies, they loved them enough to make Christmas special, and they felt loved.  That is what I am thanking you for today. I too am blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of people that have the ability to think of others, and reach their hearts out to touch those they may never meet. Don't think for a minute I won't have some amazing stories to share at our next fundraiser. I can only share a glimpse of my Black Friday  shopping spree for now, so I will leave you with the visual of me flying down the isle , list flapping behind me, and did I mention I had to rent a scooter, as my knee and back went out about two days before Thanksgiving? My daughter-in-law swears my cheeks were flapping in the wind, but she only thinks she heard me yell the names of the eight tiny reindeer....That is our little secret....Hope you all have a wonderful New Year. My thoughts are with you.
With Love and hugs .....Kimberlee

Nana,

T
his thanksgiving, I wanted to give you a special thank you. You stood by my side through everything. You didn't give up on me in all the eight years that we have known each other. Without you, I would not have found my family, whom I love dearly and with all my heart. And it's all because of how hard you have worked. I wanted you to know that I love you so much and I could not be happier to call you Nana. I love you and thank you

To Whom It May Concern:

"About three years ago, I had a wonderful family that included three little boys and a husband. Then, suddenly, around Thanksgiving time, one evening my husband did not come home from work. I received a call later that night saying that he had been arrested. I never saw him again and he is serving a lengthy prison sentence. In an instant, I was a single parent. At that time, I was running a group h
ome for boys who had been taken from their parents due to abuse and neglect. I felt overwhelmed and scared. Christmas was fast approaching and I felt hopeless. I was financially devastated and I knew that my boys and I would not be having Christmas that year. But, suddenly a ray of hope appeared, Cactus Country Property Professionals with Maureen Karpinski at the helm of the "Love House Kids Program" and many others who donated anonymously. This group has assisted my family the past two holiday seasons with much needed clothing, household items and especially toys for the boys. Without them we would not have had such a joyous Christmas."

Sincerely, Tiffany Stirling
